History

1967

a group of renowned fashion photographers founded a cooperative in 1967 for the purpose of finding and booking models. the name of the company originated from the abbreviation of fotographer cooperative (in german FOTOgrafen GENossenschaft”). As a nationol as well as international working agency fotogen does not only promote established models, but also new faces, makeup artists & stylists and carries out own foto productions. Professionalism, seriousness, many years of know-how and reliability make fotogen the most renowned address in switzerland.

1979

The company gets converted into a public limited shareholder company – Fotogen Ltd. Suzy Mella at that time a well known fashion editor at the magazine Annabelle is put in charge as CEO

1994

FOTOGEN gets a new Ownership, Jad Hayek. Face2Face, an existing company engaged in the procurement of hair, make-up and styling artists, is added to the previous activity of Fotogen. New artists are discovered and developed within Switzerland. Renowned and internationally recognized make-up and hair artists are also beeing represented and booked internationaly.

1994

2000

FOTOGEN Entertainment is born and becomes responsible for the implementation of innovative events and the creation of customer-oriented event concepts. Own model competitions and events are planned and organized mainly in Switzerland. Lots of yearly Events have developed out of this department.

2004

More and more authentic faces and characters are beeing booked frequently through streetcastings for advertising jobs. In order to ensure the expansion of our offer, Face2Face will be converted into a “People/Classic” department which deals with the mediation of commercial models till today..

2017

FOTOGEN turns 50 years old. A huge Event with more than 3500 guests was organized at the new Samsunghall in Zürich. On this occasion, a new innovative department in the field of Social Media and Influencers is opened,

2017

2018

Fotogen opens a new production department which works for international magazines like Elle, Cosmopolitan, Harpers, etc. This opens an oppurtunity for us to offer  our clients photo shootings on such locations for very interesting conditions.

2018

2019 -

After decades of supermodels shaping the everyday life of Fotogen, the agency founded its own academy in 2019. This is not only made available to models, but also to teenagers, entrepreneurs and today’s modern woman and everyone who wants to develop and learn something about the Industry. Through various workshops, in lifestyle, beauty and styling, as well as the optimal presentation on social media and much more should be taught. The Academy offers this unique insight into the backstage. If you want to stay stylish and up-to-date in business or private life and want to learn something new, then you shouldn’t miss this one.
